Pianist and teacher Andreu Riera is accompanied in this concert by a splendid Venetian baroque orchestra. The music of Mozart, Vivaldi and Respighi in all its intensity and brilliance.
The Orchestra Antonio Vivaldi di Venezia was created in 1972 by the initiative of Venetian artists led by the violinist Sirio Piovesan. All of them first soloists of large symphony orchestras from Venice, Rome and Naples. It is formed by violinists Bruna Barutti, Giorgio Fava, Kremena Nikolova, its director Anton Martynov, who plays a violin built by Nicolo Gagliano in 1732, and Ivano Zanenghi (lute).
Ivano Zanenghi, meanwhile, has performed in the most prestigious venues and collaborated with directors and artists of the highest level. Since 2005 he collaborates with the European project for young people Musikpodium Dresden-Venice.
The program chosen for this event of the 54th Pollença Festival dedicates the first part to the music of Antonio Vivaldi: Concerto in G major for violin, strings and basso continuo, RV 301; Concerto in D minor for two violins, strings and basso continuo, RV 565; and Concerto in B minor for four violins, strings and basso continuo, RV 580.
The second part consists of Piano Concerto no. 12 in A major, K. 414, by W. A. Mozart; and old Arias and Dances for lute, Suite no. 3 of Ottorino Respighi.
