This opera in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi and libretto in Italian by Arrigo Boito based on William Shakespeare's Othello, premiered at La Scala in Milan in February 1887. A tragedy where the main characters are Othello, a Moor in the service of Venice, and his beloved Desdemona.
Teatre Principal de Palma produces this show now presented in its XXIX Opera Season, with musical direction by Yaron Traub and stage direction by Alfonso Romero. With the participation of the Cor de Teatre Principal and the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands.
Otello is interpreted by Albert Montserrat (Otello), Belén López (Desdémona), Àngel Òdena (Yago), Bartomeu Guiscafré (Casio), Amelia Sierra (Emilia), Antoni Lliteres (Roderigo), Josep Miquel Ribot (Ludovico), Joan Miquel Muñoz (Montano) y Miguel Gayà - Carlos López (Heraldo).
