Paula Ríos

In June 2019, in this same scenery and setting, the Spanish pianist Paula Ríos presented her new album Cantando con los dedos, dedicated to the impact of bel canto on a young Chopin and other virtuosos. Now, in this second concert of the XIII Pianino Classical Music Festival 2020, she presents the program Protagonists of Romanticism which she performs on a 1851 Pleyel grand piano.

Described as an interpreter of strong personality, refined technique and originality in her proposals, Paula Ríos develops an intense activity as a soloist in Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Germany and Argentina.

She regularly develops projects with original instruments of the 19th century and performs with Soloists of the NYC Ballet with Chopin music, in addition to investigating the repertoire of the avant-garde in Spain as in her CD Viento de Plata (Column Music), where she recovers the work of Jesus Bal y Gay and Rosa García Ascot, both composers of the Generation of 27.

In Protagonists of Romanticism, Laura Ríos recovers two talented composers whose work was never recognized in life for their condition of being women: Clara Wieck-Schumann and Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel.
