Piers Lane, ‘The Complete Chopin Nocturnes’

The renowned English-born Australian pianist Piers Lane is participating in the 2025 Deià International Music Festival with a program dedicated to Frédéric Chopin's Nocturnes.

Piers Lane made his recital debut for the ABC at the age of 12. His international career has flourished and has taken him to more than 40 countries, including the United States, France, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Italy, India, New Zealand, South America, Cyprus, Morocco, and more.

In 2015, he was appointed Artistic Director of the Sydney International Piano Competition and is responsible for initiatives such as the 2021 Online Piano Competition, the Piano Lovers Competition for amateur Australian pianists, and Composing the Future, a competition to support Australian composers and pianists during the pandemic. In 2022, he received the coveted Sir Bernard Heinz Award for services to music in Australia.

The Deià International Music Festival 2025 is celebrated from May 14 to September 24 with concerts in: Son Marroig (Deià), Palau March (Palma), Bodegas Santa Caterina (Sencelles), the Fundació Miró Mallorca and the Deià Cemetery. The pianist Alfredo Oyágüez Montero is the artistic director of the festival.
