This is the official tribute band of U2 in Spain since it was selected with the approval of the Irish band, for the tour to promote the records How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb (2004) and U218 Singles (2006). The four components of Please U2 are Catalan and in 1999 they joined up to pay tribute to Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry, the real U2.
Nominated for best cover band for two consecutive years (2009 and 2010) for the awards ARC (Artists and Representatives of Catalunya), its members Miki Vargas (vocals), Edu Zafra (guitar), Miquel A. Mateu (bass) and Àlex Gaspa (guitar) have managed to produce a musical show and also costume and set design in the style of the band from Dublin, which was created in 1976 and whose initial sound was rooted in post-punk, but later turned to more popular music genres.
