In 2021, the Ciutat de Manacor Awards organized by the City Council's Delegation of Education and Culture added a new category, music, with the creation of the Ciutat de Manacor d'Autor Guillem d'Efak Award.
The award is aimed at groups and soloists who make author music, who sing in Catalan, are new values on the scene and who do not have any recording or management contract in force.
This year 2022, the semifinal and final concerts will be held on July 8 and 9, respectively, on the terrace of the Porto Cristo pier tavern. Those selected by the jury for the semifinal are: Júlia Parera (Manacor), the duo Parell (Llubí and Santa Maria), Tomeu Ballester (Felanitx), Miquel Sancho (Artà), Marc Jara (Manacor), the duo Lia Sampai (Barcelona ) and the duo Mon&MarCel (Eivissa).
