Premis Literaris Vila de Santanyí 2024

The City Council of Santanyí announces the Premis Literaris Vila de Santanyí 2024, which includes three awards: the XXXIX Premi Bernat Vidal i Tomàs de poesía, the VII Premi Antoni Vidal Ferrando de narrativa and the III Premi de Teatre Vila de Santanyí.

According to the rules, the works submitted to the XXXIX Premi Bernat Vidal i Tomàs de poesía must have an approximate length of 300 verses; The Premi Antoni Vidal Ferrando for Narrative will be awarded to a work written in any form of the narrative genre (novel, collection of stories, diary, travel book, etc.) with an extension of between 100 and 250 pages; and the Premi de Teatre Vila de Santanyí will be awarded to a theatrical work of any modality, with an extension corresponding to a 50-minute production.

In all cases, the works presented must be original and unpublished, with a free theme and written in the Catalan language. The works may be presented until February 8, 2024.

The jury

The jury will be made up of three prominent members of each literary genre, which in this edition will be:

Poetry:  Glòria Julià, Miquel Bezares and Maria Sevilla

Narrative: Jaume C. Pons Alorda, Lucia Pietrelli and Bernat Nadal

Theater:  Carlota Oliva, Joan Tomàs Martínez and Rafel Duran

Economic endowment

The economic endowment of the prizes is as follows:

Antoni Vidal Ferrando Prize for Narrative: € 5,000, publication of the awarded work and commemorative object

Bernat Vidal i Tomàs Poetry Prize: € 3,500, publication of the awarded work and commemorative object

Teatre Vila de Santanyí Award: € 3,500, publication of the awarded work and commemorative object

The winners will receive their award at a public event on Friday, April 27, 2024. The works will subsequently be published in the Ossos de sol collection of Adia Edicions. The presentation of the books will take place during the Sant Jaume 2024 festivities.
