Little Sun is a solar flashlight LED technology developed by artist Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederik Ottesen, created as a global social project with the aim of supplying light to 1.2 billion people without access to electricity.
Currently is available in eight African countries: Zimbabwe, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Senegal, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and South Africa as well as in Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia and Japan.
Is purchased at a higher price in the areas of the world with electricity so that the lamps can be sold in areas without electricity more affordable, and equitable distribution of resources and systems.
