With its name, this quartet pays homage to the figure of Robert Gerhard, one of the most renowned Catalan composers of the twentieth century. It was created in 2010 and today is considered one of the most projected groups in the country, having received numerous awards in and out of Spain. In 2013 they were finalists in the prestigious international competition ICMC in Hamburg.
The Gerhard Quartet consists of Jesus Miralles (cello), Lluís Castan (violin), Miquel Jorda (viola) and Judit Bardolet (violin). In this concert to be held at the Centre de Cultura Sa Nostra in Palma they will interpret Quartet op. 18 No. 3 in D major, Beethoven's and Quartet No. 6 BB119 by Bartok.
