Maximilian Schubert, Robert Davis and Peter Demos are three young American artists, energetic and full of talent who have traveled from New York to occupy three studios for artists of CCA Andratx. During the month of July they have created several works that are now displayed in this collective exhibition entitled Refill.
Each of them develops his own style. The works of Maximilian Schubert (1983) cannot be described as traditional paintings, as they transcend the limits of painting to approach sculpture, turning the format of the canvas into a challenge.
For his part, Robert Davis (1970) in the execution of his abstract paintings uses materials as enigmatic as coffee, red wine, whiskey, cigarettes or lye; and Peter Demos (1981) makes use of an abstract formal language with fine geometric shapes on a monochrome background dominated by black.
