His unique style of interpretation with intense musicality has earned German pianist Sebastian Knauer (Hamburg, 1971) great successes and a place on the international music scene. He has performed in more than fifty countries in the most prestigious settings and collaborated with directors like his great friend director Sir Roger Norrington, Fabio Luisi, Jesus Lopez Cobos and Simone Young.
In 2009 he joined the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Felix Mendelssohn with Pure Mendelssohn, which became Editor's Choice in Gramophone Magazine. Sebastian Knauer has also created his own festival, Mozart @ Augsburg, of which he is artistic director.
At the 54th Festival de Pollença he interprets a program consisting of works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert. Beethoven: Piano Sonata No.. 17 in D minor, Op. 31 no. 2 'The Tempest'; and Piano Sonata No.. 14 in C-sharp minor "Almost a fantasy ', Op. 27, no. 2, popularly known as 'Moonlight'. Schubert: Hungarian Melody in B minor, D. 817; Allegretto in C minor, D. 915; and Four Impromptus, D. 899 (Op. 90).
