The New York singer and theater actress Shakura S'Aida, with a solid artistic career of more than twenty-five years, opens the 29th edition of Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla with this concert in a quintet format at Plaça Major.
A native of Brooklyn and raised in Switzerland, Shakura S'Aida moved to Toronto, where she has developed a large part of her artistic career. She continues to amaze audiences today with her passionate Blues vocal style, as well as an uncanny ability to deliver powerful original songs.
At Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla she presents her new album Hold on to Love, nominated for the Juno 2023 Awards in the category of Best Contemporary Roots Album. Shakura S'Aida (vocals) is accompanied by Brooke Blackburn (guitar), Chuck Anthony (guitar), Anders 'Molle' Mollin (bass) and Markku Reinikainen (drums).
