Sing-along is a new show format that combines film and karaoke. The sessions consist in viewing musicals where the songs are subtitled and several entertainers teach the public the choreography and the lyrics of the songs before the screening of the film, so they can sing if they wish.
In this case it is the musical film Moulin Rouge, directed in 2001 by Australian Baz Luhrmann and starring Nikole Kidman and Ewan McGregor.
Sing-Along was created in 1999 at the Festival of Gay and Lesbian Cinema in London and that same year began to be scheduled at the Prince Charles Cinema in London. The phenomenon spread to other European cities (Amsterdam, Dublin, Oslo, Stockholm ...), the United States and Canada. It now comes to Spain to be presented at venues such as the Trui Teatre de Palma.
