Art Vocal Ensemble presents its sixteenth production and the second monograph dedicated to the figure of Giovanni Battista Draghi, known as Pergolesi, one of the most stylistically original figures of the Baroque period and one of the few composers who successfully overcame the aesthetic judgment of back currents.
Directed by Llorenç Gelabert Gual, the program consists of Concerto for flute in G major, 33 and Stabat Mater, P. 77. This 13th century work, attributed to Pope Innocent III and the Franciscan Jacopone da Todi, narrates the suffering of Mary and Mary Magdalene at the time of the crucifixion of Jesus. Pergolesi (1710-736) wrote one of the most famous versions of Stabat Mater for soprano, alto and orchestra.
The concert is performed by Marta Alcover (solo flute), Júlia Ferrés-Llongueras (soprano), Hugo Bolivar (countertenor), Ricardo Duato (concertmaster) and the string ensemble of the Art Vocal Ensemble. Shortly before the concert there will be a commented introduction.
