A tribute concert to the musician, poet and novelist Leonard Cohen of which the proceeds will go to the NGO Veïns sense fronteras. Formed by Adela Peraita and Steve Withers, Sterlin, an internationally active group based in Mallorca, recreates the Cohen songbook and brings it to the island’s public translating into Catalan some of his lyrics.
For this tribute they have chosen Songs of Love and Hate (Cançons d'amor i odi), an album released in 1971 and considered one of the most personal and emotional works of the Canadian singer. To complete the repertoire of the concert some of the biggest hits of the artist like Hallelujah and Suzanne, sung in English.
The work of Leonard Cohen, Prince of Asturias Prize for Literature 2011, has influenced three generations around the world through the creation of a sentimental imagery that blends poetry and music.
