The Israeli filmmaker Shirly Berkovitz - Academy Award for Israel in 2010 directed this documentary that tells the incredible story of Or, a 22 year old, lying to his very conservative parents, he travels to Thailand to undergo a sex change operation. The Good Son (2013) is a fascinating portrait of fear, doubt, the importance of family and willpower of oneself.
The film has won awards at festivals like Seret FF (UK, 2014), DocsBarcelona (Spain, 2014), PlaneteDoc Film Festival (Poland, 2014), Thessaloniki Documentary Festival (Greece, 2014) or IDFA (Netherlands, 2013). It is projected in the original Hebrew version with Catalan subtitles.
