Children of military parents, the Wooten created their first band at an early age, with Victor as bassist when he was only 6 years old. Each of them struggled to have a successful musical career.
Percussionist Roy Wilfred Wooten, better known as Futureman, is a founding member of the Flecktones; keyboardist Joseph Wooten plays for the Steve Miller Band; Regi Wooten is a renowned guitarist known worldwide as The Teacher; and Victor Wooten, who will give a Master Class at the festival, is often cited as one of the best bass players in the world.
The XII Jazz Voyeur Festival is held from October to December and programs six concerts, four screenings, five Master Classes and a Q&A session (questions and answers) with Martirio.
