This Dutch organist is considered one of the great performers and directors of today. He has performed on the biggest stages in the world and played most of the historic organs of Europe. In 1979 he founded the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and, later, the Baroque Choir of that city, today hailed as two of the best ensembles on period instruments.
Ton Koopman opens the IV International Music Festival Vila de Santanyí, with his first performance in Mallorca. The concert will be held after the inauguration of paintings by Daniel Codorniu, resident artist of the new edition of the festival.
The International Music Festival Vila de Santanyí is coordined by the pianist Miquel Estelrich and organized by the city council. Held until September and the collection of all concerts will go to social and conservation and dissemination of musical heritage of Mallorca projects.
