Trío Bellvent

The second concert of the III International Music Festival Vila de Santanyi brings us this trio formed by Eduardo Bernabeu (clarinet), Gerard Beltran (bassoon) and Marc Torres (piano).

The program includes Sonata in G minor for bassoon and piano, op. 24, no. 5, by F. Devienne; Theme and Variations for clarinet and piano by G. Rossini; Impromptu in C minor, op. 90, no. 1 D. 899 (piano sol) of F. Schubert; Bemoll Impromptu in E major, op. 90, no. 2 D. 899  (piano sol) of F. Schubert; and Trio in D minor for clarinet, bassoon and piano, 'Pathetique' by M. Glinka.

Born in Cocentaina (Alicante), Eduardo Bernabeu studied music in the Superior Conservatory Oscar Esplà of Alicante obtaining the Thesis Prize. In 1996 he was presented to Concurs d'Intèrprets of the Society of Concerts d'Alacant getting an Honorable Mention and in the same year he reaches the semifinals in the Concurs Internacional de Clarinet Ciudad de dos Hermanas in Seville. Since 1996 he is clarinet soloist of the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands.

Gerard Bertrand was born in Cullera (Valencia) and completed his studies at the Richard Strauss Konservatorium in Munich with Marco Postinghel. He has collaborated with the Symphony Orchestra of Castilla y León, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Madrid Symphony Orchestra, Royal Orchestra of Seville, of the RTVE Symphony Orchestra of La Coruña, among others. He was invited by the Barenboim-Said Foundation as a teacher and soloist in the orchestra of the Festival. Currently he is bassoonist of the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands.

Meanwhile, Marc Torres (1976) completed his professional piano studies with Miquel Estelrich and Joan Moll in Mallorca and later at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague with Marcel Baudet and Marlies van Gent, and at the Rotterdams Conservatorium (Holland) with Michael Davidson. He has taught in professional conservatories of Mallorca and Menorca and is currently teaching in the integrated center of primary education and elementary music lessons CEIP Son Serra.

The International Festival Music Vila de Santanyi is held until September and all concerts are free, but subscribers will enjoy important advantages: locality secured in the front rows or preferred seat, receive information by e-mail of every concert and festival activity, collaborate with charity, social and cultural entities from the municipality of Santanyi to which the revenues will be alocated and receive the Festival poster signed by Luis Vidal, the resident artist of the festival.
