The gallery Vanrell of Palma pays tribute to the last living representative of the School of Pollença and the exceptional post- Impressionist generation of the twentieth century.
Exhibition of Mateu Llobera (Pollença ,1923) in which different eras, themes and media used by the artist during his extensive career which ended ten years ago are reviewed.
The exhibition consists of forty works, a selection of painting on canvas, glass and cardboard, in which he features marine, interiors, still life and especially scenes of everyday life, people and landscapes of Pollença. The influence of the German Expressionists can be observed, but especially of the post- impressionists.
Llobera was associated in his hometown with great artists of the time like Tito Cittadini , Dionís Bennasar or Anglada Camarassa all of them co-members of the so-called School of Pollença.
