The artist Olimpia Velasco will inaugurate, on the Nit de l'Art (Art Night), an urban intervention consisting of a mural entitled El Muro (The Wall). It is an outdoor project developed on September 12, 13,14, 15 and 16 in the street Can Baró.
The objective of this project is to adapt artistically the area Can Baró street to the whole of the existing gardens and this way contribute to the rehabilitation and revitalization of the neighborhood of the Mallorca Tennis Club, whose building, designed by the Catalan architect Francesc Mitjans, is protected as well as cataloged.
Olimpia Velasco carries out the mural respecting the urban context where it is located, with a vegetal and naturalist theme, without forgetting the characteristics of her work related to lines as representing the way to the search for infinity and flight, and lately, chaos and desire.
As part of this aesthetic will be projected during the Nit de l'Art the performance which dancer Amelia Llop recorded in July against the wall when it was still gray, without the artistic intervention of Velasco.
The entire project was financed through a crowd funding campaign in which more than 40 people, including residents and merchants in the area participated.
