On Saturday 17 October Algaida celebrates one of its big autumn days. Streets and squares fill with local produce, crafts, food, music and activities for all ages. 🍂🧺

This year the Fira d'Algaida coincides with the 20th Mostra Gastronòmica of Algaida (16 to 25 October), celebrating the flavours and producers of the municipality.

On Friday 16 October at 8.00 pm, the Nit Gastronòmica brings together local restaurants, bakeries and wineries in Placeta des Sitjar.

Artisan market in the heart of Palma, perfect for strolling among stalls with handmade products in one of the most beautiful settings in the city.

Since it takes place in S’Hort del Rei, it works very well to combine it with a stroll through the historic center, the area of the Cathedral or the Parc de la Mar.

Weekly summer market in Portopetro

A very pleasant summer market to stroll calmly around the port and browse among the stalls in a small, beautiful setting with a great atmosphere in high season.

It's a good option if you fancy a quiet plan by the sea, more focused on enjoying the walk and the atmosphere than on doing a practical morning shop.

In Portopetro, it fits particularly well as an afternoon plan in the summer months.

Night market in Plaça Costa

Evening market in the heart of Cala d'Or, perfect for strolling, enjoying the summer atmosphere and relaxing shopping after the beach or before dinner.

It takes place seasonally and is better suited as a tourist outing and leisure activity than as a practical shopping market.

The Cala d’Or market works very well if you fancy a leisurely stroll through the center with stalls open at sunset.

Being in Plaça Costa, it's very easy to combine it with shopping, outdoor cafes, and a night out in the area.

Few fairs in Mallorca can say they have been held since 1546. The Fires de Llucmajor reach their 480th edition under the motto “480 anys fent poble” (480 years of bringing the town together), with more than a month of fairs, food, folk culture and family activities. 🎪🐑

16-19 Oct: 46th Mostra Llucmajorera. Friday brings Tasta Llucmajor in the cloister (7-11 pm) and a screening of Dies Festus with live music by Xavier Gelabert. Saturday has an equestrian show and a drone show at 11.00 pm. Sunday features the livestock show from 9.00 am with Mallorcan sheep, sheepdogs and native birds.

24, 30 and 31 Oct: Trobada de Quintades, a Nit de les Ànimes workshop, the Sports Gala and a closing youth party.

🏛️ Almost five centuries of fairs

The Fires began in the 16th century as a livestock and farm produce market. Today they combine those rural roots with crafts, food and folk culture, and remain the great autumn meeting point of southern Mallorca.

ℹ️ Good to know: check the full programme on the Town Council website, as times change every day. Most activities are in Catalan.

Traditional Son Ferrer Market

Santa Ponça has its weekly market on Saturday mornings: a comfortable market to make quick purchases (fresh and basic items) and, incidentally, plan a plan around the area (walk + coffee).

One of the largest markets in the north
Historic center + food, textile and craft stalls (perfect plan for tomorrow)

If you want a real “market atmosphere”, this is a classic: it is set up in and around the historic centre, and on market days the old town is super alive (ideal to combine with a walk along the wall + coffee).

✅ Why go
Because it is a complete and easy plan: large market + beautiful historic center to walk before or after. 

❌ To keep in mind
Many people come in, especially on Sunday.

If you go by car, it is best to park outside the wall and walk a few minutes (arrive early to avoid turns).

⭐ SUNDAY - BIG DAY (THE MOST “TOP”)
It is the day with the most atmosphere and the most stalls (Tuesday there is also a market, but Sunday tends to feel more “flat”).

Get off at the stop Centre històric (03034), which leaves you just a step away from the market. 

🚗 Parking (quick tip)
Park outside the wall and walk in for 5–10 minutes (it is most practical on market days).

👧 Plan with children?
Yes: it is very easy with little ones because it is a walk + “looking at stalls” + ice cream/snack, and the old town gives a lot of play to walk without rushing.

Fresh product + traditional stops + breakfast/vermouth plan in one of the most atmospheric neighborhoods in Palma  

The “market” of Santa Catalina is actually the neighborhood's municipal market: perfect for going to buy fish, fruit, cheese, sausages or flowers… and staying for a drink without leaving the place.

It is one of those plans that works whether you live in Palma or are visiting.

Good place to see local life in Palma: quick shopping, fresh produce and a lot of atmosphere (especially on Saturdays).

According to the market itself, the “commercial” hours are usually until 3:00 p.m., while the restaurant part lasts until 5:00 p.m. (and the fishmongers close on Mondays).

The “shopping” market (fresh and basic): fruit, vegetables and food in the morning - not to be confused with Thursday's clothing and footwear market.

This is the practical market of S’Arenal: stalls offruit, vegetables and food in the Plaça Major. It's great for making a quick purchase and continuing with a walk around the area.

Thursday is the general market (more of clothing and footwear), so if you are looking for fresh, you should come on the other days.

Very easy morning plan: shop fresh, see the neighborhood atmosphere and in 10 minutes you are on the seafront.

❌ To take into account

It's early and it moves fast: if you want more variety, go first thing in the morning.

This market is one of those that comes in handy when you want to “solve” purchases without going to the center: it is set up on the Paseo Público, on the corner of C/ Cardenal Rossell and C/ Lluís Ripoll, and works all year round. 

✅ Why go

Because it is practical and local: you shop quickly, there is variety and it is not the typical tourist market. Also, since it is a weekday and a Saturday, it is easy to fit it into a routine. 

❌ To take into account

It is only in the morning (and on specific days). If you go at the last minute, some stalls are already starting to pick up.

Weekly market in Plaça Major and downtown streets
One of the best-known markets in the southeast: more than 150 stalls spread across Plaça Major and nearby streets, with a mix of local products, crafts, fashion and a “town walk” in marés stone. 

✅ Why go
Because it has a lot of atmosphere (especially in season) and is perfect for setting up a complete plan: market, cafe on the terrace and a tour of the historic center. 

❌ To keep in mind
The City Council confirms that it is celebrated every Wednesday and Saturday, and on those days the center is full: narrow streets and parking can be more difficult, especially on Wednesdays.

💡 Tip
If you go by car, try to arrive early (before the center becomes saturated) and do the final stretch on foot: this is when the market is most enjoyable.

It is held two days a week, so if one day is very crowded, you have the alternative of the other.

Weekly market at the port

Morning plan by the sea: fruit and vegetable stalls, plants and various shops (very local atmosphere)

The Portocolom market is held twice a week and is perfect to combine with a stroll around the port: buy fresh produce, look at plant/flower stalls and take a walk around the center without needing a car.

✅ Why go

It's one of the most pleasant "coastal" markets when you want a simple plan: market + coffee + walk around the port.

❌ Things to keep in mind

The location changes depending on the time of year:

• From May to October, the market is set up in Plaça des Corso.
• The rest of the year, it takes place on Carrer de la Marina.
• On certain dates, the market may be located in the Plaça del Comerç.

The Campos market is a classic in Migjorn: on one hand there is the Thursday market, more compact and practical (fruit/vegetables, plants and some textiles), and on the other hand the Saturday market, which is the powerful one: more stalls and a much more varied offer (includes crafts, clothing, accessories, home textiles and also second-hand/antiques).

✅ Why go

If you like a "real market", Saturday is the day to get lost; if you just want to buy fresh produce and stroll around for a while, Thursday is perfect.
