A production of the Teatre Romea from Barcelona directed by David Selvas and stage design by Montse Garre, Oleanna, released in 1992, is one of the most intense and controversial works of David Mamet (Chicago, 1947), playwright, director and screenwriter who won the Pulitzer Prize in 1984 with Glengarry Ross.
Oleanna was the first production of the prestigious U.S. Back Bay Theater Company. The play takes us into the world of teaching to show the bond between a teacher and a student and the power relationship that arises therefrom.
It also touches issues such as the hypocrisy of political correctness and the difficulties of human beings to communicate with each other. It is interpreted by Ramon Madaula and Carlota Olcina.
