An Afro-Cuban show with Yoruba chants (a dialect of West Africa), where percussion is the main element. Especially the bata drums originated from Nigeria, and chekere, an instrument of North Africa.
The songs are offerings, praises and requests to different Orishas (saints) of the Yoruba pantheon and their lyrics deal with existential principles such as good, evil, water, femininity, warrior, etc.
This concert presents one of the many fusions that this culture has evolved, with soothing combinations close to jazz and latin jazz.
