'L'arquitecte i l'emperador d'Assíria'

Jerome Guiem Obrador stages for the first time in Catalan this work by Spanish writer and filmmaker Fernando Arrabal (Melilla, 1932) who resides in France since 1955. The Architect and the Emperor of Assyria  is his most emblematic work within the concept teatro Panico (Panic theatre), a movement which he founded in 1963 along with Alejandro Jodorowsky and Roland Topor as a counterpoint for the surrealism of André Breton, whose gatherings in Paris had attended Arrabal and Jodorowsky.

The panic movement conceived as a versatile artist be drinking from many arts and transgressive spirit. Panic theater is governed by confusion, terror, chance and euphoria.

The work of 1966 is anything but realistic. A semi-wild architect and his mentor, an Assyrian emperor fallen from the sky on a desert island, exchange their personalities and roles. After a summary trial, the emperor asks the architect to devour him at his death. Accomplished the ceremony, the architect becomes emperor.

L'arquitecte i l'emperador d'Assiria, now presented at the Teatre Principal de Santanyí, is a production of Tshock and is interpreted by Guiem Juaneda and Joan Manel Vadell.
