The Italian painter came to Mallorca in 1963 and remained here until his death in Pollença in 2000. After belonging to the Italian Futurism movement, Aligi Sassu began painting in a more intimate way and to develop his peculiar universe of bullfighting, full of horses and Mediterranean landscapes and also the beautiful beaches of Mallorca, especially Cala de Sant Vicens, in Pollença. These are works very much alive, with broad nervous strokes, in which color will be the protagonist.
In addition to works painted between 1975 and 1995, the exhibition is composed of sculptures of different format, the life-size photographic reproduction of one of his frescoes and a handwritten letter.
