The Mallorcan company Iguana Teatre presents this production directed by Pere Fullana, with scenography by Jordi Banal and dramaturgy by Jaume Miró, Aina Salom, Carme Planells and Pere Fullana himself.
Mar de fons places us in the summer of 1936, when the republican troops disembarked on the coasts of the Mallorcan Levante to recover the island, which had positioned itself next to the military uprising led by Franco. The operation was a failure and in three weeks the republicans had to re-embark. In the flight, hasty and poorly organized, they left companions on the ground, who were tortured and shot.
This production of the Teatre Principal de Palma and the Teatre Lliure with Iguana Teatre has been made based on real testimonies of people involved in those events.
Mar de fons is performed by Maria Bauçà, Rodo Gener, Lluqui Herrero, Albert Mèlich, Carles Molinet and Rosa Serra. Musical composition by Miquel Àngel Aguiló. Catalan language.
